Responsibilities

  • Hands on experience in 3D component modelling and assembly in CAD tool (SolidWorks).
  • Design and development of jigs, fixtures and mechanical sub-assemblies for grinding of diamond tools
  • Design and build machine tool using servo control, hydrostatic bearings, precision spindles, vibration/thermal control, and feedback systems.
  • Analyze and enhance machine tool dynamics, vibration control, damping, and thermal compensation strategies.
  • Conduct product prototyping, validation, testing, and performance benchmarking.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, assembly, and R&D teams for process development and continuous improvement.
  • Select materials, sensors, actuators, drives, and precision components suitable for nanoaccuracy applications.
  • Document engineering activities, design changes, and validation results.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics / Precision Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years in Building of machine tool (CNC/VMC) and machine tool dynamics.
  • Strong experience on-machine metrology, GD&T, surface-finish control, fixture/jig design.
  • knowledge of servo control, hydrostatic bearings, precision spindles, vibration/thermal control, and feedback systems.
  • Experience in FEA including structural, modal, vibration, thermal and dynamic analysis (ANSYS, Abaqus, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to micro-level precision.
  • Knowledge of diamond turning / micro-machining and exposure to ultra-precision dynamics control is highly preferred.
  • Experience in process development for optics, diamond tools, or semiconductor components is a plus.
